How many questions are on the fire safety technician exam?

The RBQ does not issue a "fire safety technician" certificate: no qualification certificate with that title appears among the compulsory certificates published by Québec.ca, and the Régie's exams qualify the respondents (répondants) of a contractor licence. No government source therefore publishes a question count for a "fire safety technician" exam.

What the RBQ does publish for fire alarm systems is the exam information sheet for sub-category 13.2 — Fire alarm systems contractor (updated December 10, 2012; consulted October 18, 2026): a multiple-choice exam of 3 hours with a passing grade of 60%, and no number of questions. The sheet lists the content assessed: system definitions and types, legislative, normative and regulatory framework, reading and interpretation of plans and specifications, design and estimating, standards and execution of work.

RBQ exam fees are $105.27 per exam, including a retake (RBQ 2026 fee schedule, consulted October 18, 2026).
