How many questions are on the General Contractor (RBQ) exam?
There is no single general contractor exam at the RBQ: the licence requires four distinct exams, passed separately, each with a passing score of 60% — administration (3 h), construction site safety management (1 h 30), project and site management (3 h) and the execution exam of the requested sub-category (3 h), for example 1.1.1 (new residential buildings covered by a guarantee plan) — RBQ general information sheet, updated November 2019.
The RBQ publishes the question count of none of these four exams: no official figure (“60 questions”, “60 to 80”) can be cited. In Metierium simulations the question count therefore follows an observed rate of 20 questions per hour — the rate on the CCQ exam sheets that publish their full structure (61 questions in 3 h for fire protection, 60 questions in 3 h for heavy equipment operator): 60 questions for administration (3 h), 30 for safety management (1 h 30), 60 for project and site management (3 h) and 60 for execution (3 h). All four counts are met by the verified question bank, without relaxing the cap of 2 questions per element.
Fees: $105.27 per exam (RBQ 2026 contractor fee schedule). Metierium is not the RBQ: the simulations are practice, not the official exams.
